Current General Services Specifications (MGS) By Subject

This article establishes procedures for sampling a universal low silicate anti-freeze and summer coolant. The requirements are set forth in the bid request issued by MoDOT.

1102.1 Procedure

Antifreeze and summer coolant shall be sampled by submitting to the Laboratory a one-gallon (4 liters) container, unopened, from each lot in the shipment. A sample tag shall be completed in accordance with Sample Record General Information Bulldozer.jpg and shall accompany each sample submitted to the Laboratory. The sample tag shall include the brand name, supplier's name and address, manufacturer's name and address, lot number, quantity represented (in gallons), and purchase order number. A SiteManager record shall be made to include all of the pertinent information.

1102.2 Laboratory Testing Guidelines

This article establishes procedures for Laboratory testing and reporting samples of a universal low silicate antifreeze and summer coolant. The requirements are set forth in the bid request issued by MoDOT.

1102.2.1 Procedure

Antifreeze shall be tested in accordance with the methods set forth in the bid request. Original test data and calculations shall be recorded in Laboratory workbooks. Test results shall then be recorded through SiteManager.

1102.2.2 Sample Record

The sample record shall be completed in SiteManager, as described in Sample Record General Information Bulldozer.jpg, and shall indicate acceptance, qualified acceptance, or rejection. Appropriate remarks, as described in EPG 106.20 Reporting, are to be included in the remarks to clarify conditions of acceptance or rejection. Test results shall be reported on the appropriate templates under the Tests tab.
