To reduce the need for multiple staking of the right of way line, permanent markers will normally be set by the design survey party prior to or at the time of condemnation for conventional surveys. For more information refer to EPG 238.2.14 Monumenting Right of Way.

Construction Inspection Guidelines for Sec 602

602.1 Description. This work consists of constructing drain markers or steel right of way markers as specified in the contract documents, at the locations shown on the plans or as directed by the engineer. The resident engineer is responsible for providing the plaques and fasteners at no cost to the contractor. The contractor must provide the posts in accordance with Sec 1044.

602.3 Construction Requirements. Steel markers should be set with the legend facing the centerline of the highway. Posts that are damaged during driving should be replaced.
